AxBrack Update: It All Comes Down to This

Tonight is the big night in NCAA basketball as Connecticut takes on Butler in the Championship Game. And here at the office, this means we will finally have a winner in our 2011 Emilio Estevez #Losing Bracket Challenge. It's still a close race with 4 people in the running for the top three spots (and the wine of course). The winner of tonight's game will determine who wins everything, so here are the possible scenarios:

If Butler wins...
  • Andrea maintains her #1 spot and will win the wine and bragging rights that such an esteemed honor entails (and yes, that last part was meant to be sarcastic).
  • Kathleen will be the runner-up, with Linel coming in third. Both will get some wine, and since they picked Connecticut to win it all, are guaranteed to be within the top three spots.
  • I will be in last place and will get the Emilio Estevez #Losers Trophy and the shame that accompanies it.
If Connecticut wins...
  • Kathleen jumps ahead of Andrea for the #1 spot.
  • Linel bumps up to 2nd place, while Dave sneaks his way into 3rd place.
  • Andrea takes a free fall in the standings and lands in 4th place and wins nothing.
  • I will still be in last place and will get the Emilio Estevez #Losers Trophy and the shame that accompanies it.
Needless to say, we will all be keeping a close eye on the Championship Game tonight. For some, it will be the time to watch their chances at some bottles of wine either slip away or come to fruition. For me, it will be to see what could have been as that #Losers trophy sits by my desk.
